Celtic See Off Competition From Host Of Premier League Teams To Secure Left Back’s Signature

Celtic have confirmed that left-back Mitchel Frame has signed a professional contract with the Scottish champions.

The 16-year-old has been heavily linked with a move down south over the past six months. Manchester City, Newcastle, Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Wolves had all taken an interest in the defender, with the latter three reportedly having made formal offers.

However, it appears Frame always had his heart set on staying at Lennoxtown. Back in March, it became known that the teenager was keen on signing a long-term deal to remain with the club. Now, it has been made official.

The fullback joins eight other academy graduates who have put pen to paper on long-term contracts. Aidan Cannon, Daniel Cummings, Josh Dede, Colby Donovan, Aiden Haddow, Thomas Hatton, Eseosa Sule and Kyle Ure have also been rewarded for their efforts.

After Celtic lost talented midfielder Ben Doak to Liverpool earlier in the year, it’s a big boost that the club has managed to tie down some of its brightest prospects.
