Celtic Set Their Sights On Chelsea Stopper After Excelling Out On Loan

Celtic are interested in Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, according to reports in England.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Derby County and was named the club’s player of the year after helping them to the English Championship playoff final.

It is believed Tomori won’t be part of Maurizio Sarri’s first-team plans next season despite the Blues being under a transfer ban.

It could mean that the centre-back will be loaned out for a fourth successive season. The England Under 21 international had spells at Brighton and Hull City prior to his move to Pride Park.

Celtic will be seeking replacements for both Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic who are heading for the exit door in the summer.

Boyata will depart the club at the end of his contract while Benkovic’s loan deal will expire at the end of June leaving the Hoops with few options at centre-half.

Tomori would certainly be an interesting choice but Celtic will likely face stiff competition from English clubs for his signature.
