Celtic Set To Battle Rangers For Brighton Marksman As They Eye Edouard Replacement

Celtic have joined Rangers in pursuing Brighton forward Florin Andone, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The Romanian international is currently on loan at Galatasaray but he isn’t expected to remain in Turkey beyond the end of the season.

Andone is reportedly being looked at as a potential option if Odsonne Edouard does depart Celtic Park when the transfer window opens.

A number of clubs, including Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have been mentioned as possible destinations for the Frenchman but the Hoops may also try to keep him for another season.

Whether Andone would be a good purchase for Celtic, it is up for debate. The 27-year-old has scored just twice in 11 games during his loan spell with Galatasaray; both coming in the same game back in October.

For Brighton, he managed just five goals in 28 appearances last season, although it must be said the vast majority of his games came as a substitute.
