Celtic Star Tells Agent To Negotiate Potential Exit After Turning Down £25k p/w Deal

Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has told his agent to start talks with interested teams as he weighs up leaving Parkhead this summer, according to the Football Insider.

The website claim that the Norwegian international has already rejected a new contract worth £25,000 a week and the feeling is that the centre-back is leaning towards a move away from the Scottish champions.

Ajer’s agent has already spoken out in recent months to claim the 22-year-old will be looking to leave Celtic when the next transfer window opens.

Manager Neil Lennon responded bluntly by saying that as the Norwegian has two years remaining on his current deal, it will be the club who decides whether he stays or goes.

Leicester and AC Milan are believed to be the two teams that have showed the most interest in Ajer, while Arsenal have also been mentioned. However, Celtic will likely hold out for a sizeable sum, with Lennon stating at the start of the season that they value him higher than £15m.
