Celtic Step Up Summer Recruitment Plans As They Target Move For ‘Exciting Prospect’

Celtic are interested in Cherno More forward Martin Minchev, according to the Glasgow Times reporter Mark Hendry.

The Scottish champions’ recruitment department have been scouring Europe for the best young players and they have identified the 19-year-old as an “exciting prospect.”

Celtic have certainly had some success in snapping up youngsters with potential in recent seasons. The capture of Jeremie Frimpong from Manchester City is a case in point.

Minchev would, though, be a greater risk, considering he hasn’t really made a big impact in senior football despite having played 72 games for Chrerno More in Bulgaria.

The teenager has scored just ten goals for the first team, although it must be said that the majority of his playing time has been as a winger, rather than as a centre forward this season.

Minchev has impressed enough to be handed senior caps by Bulgaria, having last played in a friendly against Belarus back in February.
