Celtic Suffer Double Injury Blow With Midfielders Ruled Out For The Season

Celtic midfielders Daniel Arzani and Eboue Kouassi have both been ruled out for the season with anterior cruciate ligament injuries.

Manchester City loanee Arzani made his debut against Dundee in the 5-0 win last week. He played the last 30 minutes of the game, but manager Brendan Rodgers revealed he had twisted his knee when his boot studs got caught on the grass.

The winger confirmed today that he will miss the remainder of the campaign. With the Australian international on a two-year loan spell, it means he will go through his full rehabilitation with the Celtic medical staff.

Kouassi, meanwhile, sustained a similar injury in the 3-0 win over Hearts in the League Cup semi-final.  The Ivorian had to come off after 26 minutes due to the injury.

It is believed both players will be out for a similar period of time, with extensive rehab required for both to be back in contention for the beginning of next season.
