Celtic Superstar ‘Happy’ At Club Despite Interest From Teams In Premier League

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has stressed on Twitter that Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley is ‘happy’ at the club, even though he is attracting attention from teams in the Premier League.

As well as teams in the Premier League, he also states that O’Riley is being coveted by teams in the Bundesliga. However, he does not name the teams in question.

In Romano’s tweet, he wrote: “Matt O’Riley, understood to be happy at Celtic even after a few Premier League and Bundesliga clubs have shown serious interest in him. The 22-year-old midfielder has 16 goals/assists for Celtic this season.”

The news will likely go down well with Celtic supporters – O’Riley is currently enjoying a wonderful season with the Bhoys and has played a considerable role in their title charge.

O’Riley joined Celtic in January of 2022 from Milton Keynes Dons. He reportedly cost the club a fee of £1.5 million, which was also his release clause at MK.

Since joining Celtic, several Premier League clubs are thought to have shown an interest in snapping up O’Riley’s services. Among them are Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Despite being born in Hounslow, London, O’Riley currently represents Denmark internationally at U21 level. As well as England and Denmark, O’Riley is also eligible to represent Ireland and Norway on the international stage.
