Celtic Told To Stump Up 8.6M If They Want To Sign Honduran Ace With 8 Goals And 7 Assists This Season

Boavista have slapped a €10m (£8.6m) price tag on winger Alberth Elis, according to reports in the Portuguese media.

Celtic were interested in the Honduran international before he made the switch from Houston Dynamo back in September, and it is believed the Hoops have kept tabs on the player.

Elis has had a very good season for Boavista, having scored eight goals and contributed seven assists in 31 league appearances, helping his team to finish 13th in the Portuguese top flight.

His performances have, though, attracted interest from two English Premier League clubs, Brighton and Watford, while Porto are also said to be watching the 25-year-old.

Celtic are likely to be in the market for a wide player this summer, with Mohamed Elyounoussi returning to Southampton, but Elis’s asking price could well put them off from making a bid, unless they can raise the money from selling the likes of Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie. All three players have a year left on their contracts and are expected to leave Parkhead in the coming months.
