Celtic Tracking £6m Rated Uruguayan Frontman Who Scored 20 Goals Last Season

Celtic are considering a bid for Girona forward Cristian Stuani, according to reports in Mexico.

The Uruguayan international is also being followed by Mexican club Monterrey, as well as English Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Barcelona have also considered Stuani as a possible reserve for Luis Suarez, but the Catalan giants are said to be weighing up a number of other options.

The Girona striker is said to be available for €7m (£6m), which may be somewhat on the expensive side but the 32-year-old did score 20 goals in all competitions last season.

With Girona having been relegated from La Liga, Stuani would likely be open to moving on, and a switch to Scotland could be a possibility.

Celtic are said to be looking to strengthen up front after failing to replace Moussa Dembele, who they sold for almost £20m last summer. A £6m outlay for a new striker would, therefore, not be beyond their reach.
