Mark Hendry Names THREE Celtic Players Whose Futures At The Club Are Uncertain

Celtic trio Aaron Mooy, Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley could all leave Parkhead this summer, according to Football Scotland reporter Mark Hendry.

The reliable journalist claims the three players have uncertain futures with the Hoops due to a number of different reasons.

Following the departure of Ange Postecoglou, Mooy is said to be contemplating retirement. He has not made a final decision on his future, but there is a decent chance that he won’t be at the club for the start of the new campaign.

Hatate, meanwhile, is attracting interest from the Premier League. There has been some speculation about the Japanese international reuniting with Postecoglou at Tottenham and, asked about his future earlier this month, the midfielder made it clear that he was open to leaving Glasgow if there was a genuine opportunity to make the “step up.

O’Riley has also been on the radar of a number of teams south of the border. Crystal Palace scouted the midfielder last season, and the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle are known to be watching the player as well.

Rodgers will be keen to keep this Celtic squad together

Considering the success that the Hoops have had under Postecoglou over the past couple of seasons, Rodgers will be reluctant to make too many changes to the first team.

However, it does appear as if the midfield may need a revamp if any of these three players do depart the Scottish champions in the coming weeks.

The arrival of Odin Thiago Holm from Valerenga as the club’s first summer signing does add further depth in that area, while the likes of Leicester’s Wilfried Ndidi and Red Star Belgrade’s Kings Kangwa have also been mentioned as potential targets recently, but don’t be surprised if more midfielders are linked with a switch to Celtic Park.
