Celtic Vs Hearts: Match Preview & Injury News

Celtic are gearing up for a potentially feisty game against Edinburgh club Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday evening.

The Celts have generally had good luck with injuries this season – sadly, that good luck seems to have come to an end, as star man James Forrest is set to be out for a ‘little while’ according to Celts manager Ange Postecoglou. However, outside of Forrest, Celtic have no fresh injury concerns to worry about.

The Bhoys boss said: “James Forrest got a bit of a muscle strain in training so he is going to be out for a little while, which is unfortunate for him. He will miss the next period of games probably beyond the international break.

“Everyone else was OK from the weekend but I will assess everyone who played on Sunday. It’s three games in six days so we are definitely going to make some changes, whether that’s Wednesday or Saturday, I will see how the squad is.”

Celtic are currently top of the Scottish Premiership and are nine points clear of bitter rivals Rangers. Hearts are also enjoying a successful campaign – they sit 3rd in the table, but are 22 points behind the Celts.

When the two teams met earlier in the SPFL season, all the way back in October, we were treated to a seven-goal thriller. While Hearts’ Lawrence Shankland scored a hattrick after an inspired performance, goals from James Forrest, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Daizen Maeda and Greg Taylor.
