Celtic Vs Hibernian: Match Preview & Injury News

Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic will be looking to maintain their position at the summit of the Scottish Premiership as they take on Hibernian at the weekend.

The Celts have no new injury concerns – James Forrest is set to be out for ‘a little while’ according to an interview with Postecoglou last week. He missed out on Celtic’s previous fixture, when the Bhoys beat Hearts in the Scottish FA Cup – it’s unclear when he’ll return to action. Aside from this, the Celts have nothing else to worry about on the injury front.

In their last SPFL game, Celtic defeated Hearts by a score of 3-1. They then went on to beat the Edinburgh team again just three days later in the Scottish FA Cup, this time by a score of 3-0.

Meanwhile, Hibernian suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Rangers in their last fixture. Despite taking the lead after Connor Goldson scored an own goal, Rangers were rampant from then on in – the score ended 4-1 in favour of the Glaswegians.

When the two teams last met, Celtic won in dominant fashion. On that day, Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and former Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy all found themselves on the scoresheet as the game ended 4-0 to the Hoops.

Celtic are in a strong position in the league at this moment. They’re nine points above bitter rivals Rangers – however, they will need to remain steadfast and focused if they are to keep the top spot.
