Celtic are gearing up for yet another feisty Old Firm derby against Rangers on Saturday. Who will earn the Glasgow bragging rights this time?
The Bhoys have a number of injury concerns ahead of the weekend. Liel Abada, Anthony Ralston, Benjamin Siegrist, James Forrest and James McCarthy are all set to miss out on Celtic’s massive clash with the Gers.
Greg Taylor, Reo Hatate and Aaron Mooy are also doubts – however, all three are expected to be available, according to Celts manager Ange Postecoglou.
In their last SPFL game, Celtic defeated Ross County by a score of 2-0. It wasn’t their best outing of the season – many Celtic supporters thought their team performed well below par – but nevertheless, the Celts took home the three points.
Rangers were also victorious in their last game, as they defeated Dundee United by a score of 2-0. Malik Tillman was comfortably the man of the match, as he scored twice to sink United. Todd Cantwell was also impressive – the Tangerines could do little to contain his creative influence.
The last time the two teams met in competitive action came during the 2023 Scottish League Cup final. In that game, Celtic emerged with victory, despite a late fightback from the Light Blues. Kyogo Furuhashi scored a brace, with a goal in each half – Rangers responded through Alfredo Morelos, but were unable to find an equaliser. Can the Celts maintain their dominance over the Gers on Saturday?
