Celtic have joined Rangers and West Ham in pursuing Reading striker Luca Fletcher, according to reports in the English media.
The forward has been impressing for England at Under 16 level and he is likely to have come to the attention of the two Glasgow clubs when he scored in a 3-0 win over Scotland at a tournament last month.
Fletcher turns 16 in just over a month’s time and he is eligible to move north of the border, despite his young age, with little in the way of compensation needed.
Reading are not thought to be in a position to ward off potential suitors, with the English Championship side currently embroiled in financial problems.
Celtic will, however, have to fight hard if they want to secure Fletcher’s signature, with West Ham likely to be joined by other English Premier League teams in pursuing the teenager. We shall have to wait and see how this transfer story develops.
