Celtic Watching Greek Playmaker ‘Closely’ Ahead Of Potential January Bid

Celtic are “closely” monitoring Panathinaikos midfielder Giannis Bouzoukis, according to SDNA. The Greek outlet claims Head of Football Operations Nick Hammond has sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action.

A representative from the Hoops was said to be in the stands when Panathinaikos won 2-0 against Lamia last weekend. The Greece Under 21 international is generally employed as a number 10, but he has more often than not played out wide this campaign.

On Saturday, Bouzoukis played on the left of a front three before being replaced by Uffe Bech ten minutes from the end of the game.

The Greek star has not been particularly effective in the final third, having scored one goal and contributed just one assist in 15 appearances for Panathinaikos this season.

Bouzoukis does appear to have some potential, though, and it has reportedly led to the likes of Villarreal, Benfica, Ajax and Getafe watching him play over the past year.
