Celtic are interested in Le Mans winger Stephane Diarra, according to L’Equipe. The French publication claims that scouts from the Scottish club have been monitoring the player’s development.
However, the Hoops are not the only team keeping tabs on the Ivorian with English Premier League sides Leicester City and Newcastle also tracking the 20-year-old.
Diarra generally plays as a right-winger, but as he is strongest on his left-foot, he generally cuts in from the flank. The Ligue Two star started the season like a house on fire, scoring a goal and providing an assist in Le Mans’ 2-1 win over Lorient in the French League Cup.
However, since then, he has managed just two more goals in the league, both coming in the 4-2 defeat to AC Ajaccio back in September. It must be said, though, that Le Mans are struggling in the French second division, currently sitting fourth from bottom in the table.
