Celtic’s Cut Of Fee For French Ace Could Drop from 3M To 2.5M Amid Arsenal Transfer Claims

Celtic may only receive £2.5m from the sale of Moussa Dembele, rather than the £3m they expected, if the Frenchman moves to Arsenal this summer.

Reports in England suggest Atletico Madrid are unlikely to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent basis for £30m at the end of the season.

With Celtic owed 10% due to a sell-on clause with Lyon, they would have received £3m but, with that no longer looking like a realistic possibility, they may have to settle for a lower figure.

Arsenal have, though, reportedly enquired about Dembele’s availability, with Lyon now expected to sell the former France Under 21 international for £25m; meaning a smaller cut for the Hoops.

Of course, that is still dependent on the Gunners actually going ahead with the deal. Both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah have one year remaining on their current contracts and the likelihood is both players will be sold. If that happens, it would free up space in the squad for Dembele.
