Cettic Handed Big Injury Boost As Lennon Reveals Star Is Due To Return “By The End Of The Month”

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that Mohamed Elyounoussi is expected to return to match action before the end of January. The Hoops boss provided the update at his pre-match press conference yesterday:

“Elyounoussi will be back by the end of the month.”

The Swiss international has not been seen since aggravating a foot injury in the win over Rangers in the Betfred Cup final early last month, but the winger is now on course to make his comeback within the next couple of weeks.

Lennon also revealed that Hatem Abd Elhamed has had a setback on his return from a groin injury, while Ryan Christie and Mikey Johnston won’t feature against Partick Thistle.

Kristoffer Ajer and James Forrest are also doubts after picking up knocks, but Daniel Arzani is expected to return to the squad. The Manchester City loanee has missed a whole year with a knee injury but he is slowly building up his fitness and could feature at Firhill Stadium.
