Charlie Nicholas Claims Postecoglou Will Drop Two Celtic Players For The Derby

Ex-Celtic player Charlie Nicholas believes Ange Postecoglou could drop both Tom Rogic and Reo Hatate for this weekend’s game against Rangers.

The Gers managed to disrupt the midfield during the Scottish Cup semi-final a couple of weeks ago, and Nicholas thinks Postecoglou will be looking to change his personnel in that area of the pitch on Sunday:

“Ange will be tinkering. Rangers upset his players’ rhythm at Hampden. Tom Rogic or Reo Hatate might not start. I do think the manager will change his midfield and for that reason,” they will win it.”

Hatate has looked fatigued in recent weeks, while Rogic was benched for the 2-0 win against Ross County, so Nicholas could be on to something in terms of the team selection.

Matt O’Riley may well be favoured ahead of the Australian international once again when they take on their Glasgow rivals, while David Turnbull would likely be the player to replace Hatate.

Nicholas says that he will be backing Postecoglou’s team to win the match if the changes are made, but we shall see how the match transpires. Even a draw would put the Hoops in excellent shape to reclaim the title.
