Charlie Nicholas Predicts The Scoreline Ahead Of Celtic’s Clash Against Rangers This Weekend

Ex-Celtic forward Charlie Nicholas is expecting the derby against Rangers this weekend to be an end-to-end affair with plenty of goals.

The Hoops have been scoring quite a few recently but Nicholas believes they are still vulnerable at the back, which could lead to a high scoreline at Ibrox:

“I can see Sunday’s clash at Ibrox being a classic. I can easily see it ending up a four or five-goal thriller. And if I was pushed to make a prediction I’d go with a 2-2 draw.”

A score draw away from home would certainly not be a bad result for manager Ange Postecoglou in his first derby, but there is potential for his team to get all three points.

For that to happen, though, inexperienced players such as Anthony Ralston and Stephen Welsh need to step up to the plate, while new signings Kyogo Furuhashi, Carl Starfelt and Liel Abada will have to ensure they are not overawed by the occasion.

Celtic supporters will certainly be more confident going into the match than they would have been even a few weeks ago when Postecoglou’s side were still finding their feet.
