“Conversations Now Beginning” Club Chairman Provides New Update On Future Of Celtic Linked Forward

Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has confirmed that the club will try to restart contract negotiations with Siriki Dembele.

The 24-year-old has one year remaining on his current deal, and there were reports in January linking him with a move to Celtic and Rangers after the player submitted a transfer request. However, MacAnthony says the forward will be one of the players they will try to keep:

Whether Dembele will consider a contract extension, it seems doubtful, considering he was previously promised that he would be let go at the end of the season.

It has been reported that Peterborough could hold out for a fee in a region of £3m for the player, who has scored 12 goals and contributed 12 assists in all competitions this campaign.

As well as the two Glasgow clubs, it is believed that the likes of Fulham, Crystal Palace, Wolves and a number of English Championship teams are all pursuing his signature.
