‘Cracking Player’ ‘Not What We Need’ – Celtic Fans On Twitter Debate January Bid For Everton Star

Celtic and West Ham have both made enquiries for Everton midfielder Tom Davies, according to reports in the English media.

The 20-year-old has not had much game time in recent weeks, and the Hoops Director of Football Lee Congerton was said to be keen to take the player on loan.

Some supporters on Twitter were enthusiastic about recruiting Davies:

Others felt that the Scottish champions have more pressing needs in other areas of the pitch:

It appears as though Davies won’t be going anywhere in January despite the reported interest being shown in him. Everton boss Marco Silva was unequivocal when asked about the possibility of loaning out the midfielder:

“No way. Impossible. No way. Tom is part of our squad. He is an important player for me and an important player for us as a club. He is the present and the future of our club.”

Whether that position changes if the England Under 21 international’s playing time doesn’t improve, it remains to be seen. He has played just nine minutes of Premier League football since October with Barcelona loanee Andre Gomes having taken his place in the side in recent weeks.
