EPL Club ‘Set To Make A Big Money Bid’ For Celtic Star Next Week

Outside of Celtic Park

Burnley are “set to make a big money bid” for Celtic attacking midfielder Ryan Christie in the next seven days before the transfer window closes, according to the Daily Record.

It is believed that Clarets boss Sean Dyche is a big fan of the 25-year-old after first scouting him five years ago at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, before his move to Parkhead.

Christie is now very much a key first-team player for the Hoops, having found a bit of form recently, with one goal and three assists in his last three games for the Scottish champions.

Celtic had been set to open talks with the playmaker about signing a new contract. Manager Neil Lennon confirmed back in June that discussions were planned but, so far, there has been no sign of the player putting pen to paper on a new deal.

It could well be the case that Burnley are looking to exploit the current situation, and we shall have to wait and see whether the Hoops would be interested in selling Christie.
