EPL Scout ‘Watched’ 20M Rated Celtic Star Against RB Leipzig Last Week

Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley was “watched” by Crystal Palace during the Hoops’ 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig on Wednesday evening, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Eagles’ sporting director Dougie Freedman was said to be in the stands as he ran the rule over the Denmark Under 21 international.

Other Premier League clubs have been heavily linked with O’Riley, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Leicester and Newcastle, with the Magpies having also scouted the midfielder during the last international break.

Palace are seemingly the latest English team to take a keen interest in the 21-year-old. They are believed to be seeking a replacement for Conor Gallagher who returned to Chelsea after his loan spell last season.

Celtic only signed O’Riley from MK Dons for £1.5m earlier this year but reports suggest that the player could now fetch a fee in the region of £15m to £20m, if the Scottish champions do decide to sell up either in January or at the end of the season.
