Ex Chelsea Star Tipped For ‘Surprise’ Role At Celtic By Reliable Journalist

Andriy Shevchenko could be a “surprise choice” if Celtic opt to part ways with Ange Postecoglou in the coming months, according to The Sun‘s Alan Nixon.

The journalist claims that the former AC Milan and Chelsea striker has made it known that he wants to work in the UK after resigning as Ukraine’s manager earlier this year.

Shevchenko guided his country to the knockout stages of Euro 2020, where they were beaten by England, but he does lack experience of managing at club level.

Celtic are also not currently looking for a new head coach. Postecoglou has had a poor start to his reign at Parkhead but the 2-1 win over Aberdeen at the weekend has eased the pressure somewhat on the Australian.

Shevchenko, meanwhile, is expected to wait patiently for an opportunity to open up. He does have property in London and he is said to be looking around for potential jobs.
