Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton felt that Timothy Weah put in an excellent performance against St Mirren last night.
The American has barely featured since Neil Lennon was appointed interim manager but he was named in the starting line up for the game at the Paisley 2021 Stadium.
Weah made an instant impact, scoring 15 minutes into the game, helping to secure a good 2-0 win for the Hoops. Sutton took to Twitter to sum up Weah and Celtic’s display:
Celtic comfortable tonight 2-0… Weah exciting and good to see Christie back who brought real energy Celtic have missed?? However Scottish football this season has had a nasty undercurrent in the stands and the moron who threw the firecracker isn’t a true fan of Celtic…

Weah has made 13 appearances since arriving on loan from Paris Saint-Germain in January but the 19-year-old has only started three games for the Scottish champions during that time. Supporters will be keen to see more of him in the closing stages of the season.
The result against St Mirren means Celtic are now 13 points ahead of Rangers with just six games to go. If they win their next two matches against Livingston and Aberdeen, they will clinch their eighth consecutive league title.
