Southampton have joined Arsenal, Leicester, Aston Villa and Roma in the battle for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to reports in the UK.
The Saints are very much outsiders for the 23-year-old but they are said to be hoping that their good relationship with the Hoops could help them secure a deal for the Frenchman.
With Fraser Forster and Mohammed Elyounoussi, both players of interest to Celtic, Southampton may look to offer players in exchange for Edouard.
The number of teams pursuing the France Under 21 international, though, may lead to the Scottish club thinking that they could get in excess of the £20m they are demanding for the forward.
With Edouard closing in on the final twelve months of his contract, combined with the sell-on clause owed to PSG, there were concerns that Celtic could miss out on substantial windfall. However, with five clubs interested in the player, that is unlikely to happen now.
