Former Celtic Favourite Trolls Rangers Fans On Twitter Following Old Firm Derby

Former Celtic striker and fan-favourite Chris Sutton has brutally trolled Rangers fans after their Old Firm derby day victory on Twitter.

On his official Twitter page, Sutton wrote: “Well done Rangers on winning the Doesn’t Matter Trophy against Celtic Reserves.”

The tweet has attracted plenty of negative attention from Gers supporters – as well as a surplus of mirth for Celtic fans. Rangers may have won the battle, but Celtic have certainly won the war – they collected their 53rd Scottish Premiership title in their previous game.

In the game against Rangers, where Celtic fielded a weakened side, the Bhoys were thoroughly beaten by a score of 3-0. Todd Cantwell, John Souttar and Fashion Sakala all got their names on the scoresheet in a rampant display from the Light Blues.

Ultimately, Sutton is correct – outside of regional pride, the game, and Rangers’ victory, was a meaningless one. Nevertheless, Celtic fans do not like losing to their bitterest of rivals – they’ll be out for revenge the next time the two giants of Scottish football come to blows.

Sutton played for Celtic between the years of 2000 and 2006. In that time, he made 130 appearances for the Hoops, scoring 63 goals in the league.
