Former Celtic Youngster Lands A Spot On Prestigious NXGN List

A former Celtic youth academy player, Ben Doak, has been named among the greatest teenage footballers in the world as part of NXGN 2023.

At just 17 years of age, Doak is an extremely promising talent. A fearless dribbler of the ball, he loves to surge down the flanks – he’s also excellent at cutting inside and probing the channels. In short, he is a full-back’s worst nightmare.

The Dalry-born boy was named in the Celtic squad for the first time in 2021, before making his debut for the club in early 2022. He also came off the bench during the Celts 3-0 win over bitter rivals Rangers on February 2, 2022.

He made just two senior appearances for the Bhoys before departing the club to join Liverpool in the spring of last year. Since then, he’s made two senior appearances for the Reds – one of which came against Derby County in the EFL Cup, while the other was against Aston Villa in the Premier League on December 26.

He has also made several appearances for the Scottish national team at various youth levels, including the U16, the U17s and the U21s. He has yet to win a cap for the senior team – however, it appears to be just a matter of time before he makes his Tartan Army debut.
