Frank Lampard’s Uncle Harry Redknapp Names The Team His Nephew Could Be Managing Next Season

Harry Redknapp says he believes Frank Lampard could be in line to take over from Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace at the end of the season.

The Eagles manager’s contract expires in the summer, and the 73-year-old remains undecided over whether to sign an extension. With that being the case, Redknapp thinks his nephew may be more interested in taking the job at the Premier League club, rather than moving to Celtic:

“Roy (Hodgson) done a great job at Palace, whether he stays, if he doesn’t stay Frank would be my favourite to be the next Palace manager. But Roy is still in the job and he’s done a great job but if he does call it a day I would think Frank would be red-hot favourite.”

Former Rangers boss Alex McLeish said earlier this week that he had caught wind of reports that Lampard had held talks with Celtic’s directors but Redknapp’s comments seem to go against those claims.

Whatever the truth of the matter, the odds of Lampard being appointed as head coach at Parkhead seem to be diminishing. Currently, the top three favourites for the Celtic post are ex Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder, current caretaker boss John Kennedy and former player Roy Keane.
