Celtic forward Timothy Weah came off the bench to score on his debut against Airdrie at the weekend.
The American international slotted the ball past the goalkeeper after being put through on goal by Dedryck Boyata.
Weah had only been on the pitch 15 minutes before he sealed a 3-0 victory for the Bhoys in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. Fans on Twitter were particularly excited by what they saw from the 18-year-old in his cameo performance:

The goal was great but his running off the ball revealed a level of ambition and appetite that has frankly been too often lacking in others this season.

Whether he is a marvel or he flops I’ve been a season ticket holder for 17 years now and I’ve never seen a new lad enjoy a goal that much ? he gets it.

Of course, there will be bigger challenges ahead for the teenager. There is a big difference from scoring at home against a League One side than making an impact in the league. Still, his pace and finishing ability show a lot of promise.
Clearly, his speed and athleticism will make him a threat against most defences in the Scottish Premiership and if he can show the same finishing skills as he demonstrated on his debut, he could prove to be a very shrewd loan purchase by Brendan Rodgers.
