Celtic are weighing up a move for Benfica winger Jota, according to reports in the Scottish media.
The 22-year-old is being lined up by Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou on loan, with the former Portuguese Under 21 international unlikely to get much game time at his current club.
Jota had a rather underwhelming loan spell at La Liga side Real Valladolid last campaign, but he is someone with a lot of untapped potential, and fans on Twitter are keen for Celtic to snap him up:
This kids got so much ability but hadn’t fulfilled any of it as yet. Hopefully Ange can fix that

Considering that Benfica are said to be very open to loaning the player out, it wouldn’t really be much of a gamble if Celtic were to sign the winger before the transfer window shuts.
It would give Postecoglou more options in wide areas, and it could also be a contingency plan if Ryan Christie were to leave Parkhead. The 26-year-old’s current deal with the Scottish club expires in January.
