Celtic are likely to demand around €5m (£4.4m) for Vasilis Barkas, according to reports in the Greek media.
The goalkeeper has had a good season out on loan with FC Utrecht and, while the Eredivisie side can’t afford to sign the player on a permanent basis, other teams are taking a keen interest.
It has led to the Hoops inflating their asking price for Barkas and, while fans on Twitter believe it would be a great deal if they manage to offload the Greek international for that much, many feel the valuation is too high:
Haha that’s ambitious

if we get £4m for barkas we've genuinely committed a heist

If we get £4 million for hologram hands, that might be the best bit of business the club has ever done!

Be lucky to coup half of that although I haven’t watched him this season

I was thinking 2m would be decent given the circumstances

I’ll be amazed if we get over £2m for him.

Barkas was signed from AEK Athens for around £4.5m nearly three years ago but he failed to impress with his performances for Celtic.
Manager Ange Postecoglou was never convinced about the 28-year-old’s ability and the keeper was limited to just two appearances last season before he joined Utrecht. If the Scottish champions can recoup what they paid for Barkas, it would be a massive bonus.
