“I Know For A Fact…” John Hartson Makes Tottenham Claim With Celtic Locked In Talks Over 6M Transfer

Tottenham are actively looking to sell Celtic loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers, according to John Hartson.

The former Hoops striker says he has it on good authority that Spurs have no intention of keeping Carter-Vickers, even if he does return south of the border this summer:

“I know Spurs want to sell. I know for a fact, because I speak to people at Spurs, and they want to sell Carter-Vickers. He’s been on loan several times, and they feel that he’s not going back to Spurs, so they want to do a deal with somebody for Carter-Vickers.”

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that the club are in negotiations to snap up Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis. They did include a purchase clause in their loan agreement with Tottenham, which means they can sign the defender for an initial £6m.

The Hoops are, therefore, in pole position to secure the American’s signature, ahead of the likes of Leicester, Wolves and Watford, who are also said to be interested in the centre-back

However, Carter-Vickers must give his approval to the move going ahead. Postecoglou has remained coy on how talks are progressing with the player but fans will be hoping that they reach a successful conclusion.
