Celtic and QPR are interested in Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu, according to Sky Sports News (via the Scottish Sun). The 24-year-old has been linked with a surprise switch to the Old Firm giants following his performances over the last year.
The TV channel report that the Hoops had scouts watching the forward last season, and have continued to monitor the player at the start of this campaign. Fans on Twitter are highly sceptical about the club’s interest:

Even if the big guy came to us , he wouldn’t get away with being physical as the referees would soon book him early in games.. that would take away his edge … we need skillfull players who are better than the referees

Guys big n a handful for defenders but he isnt at celtic levels

Would take Cosgrove over him because he's a far more frequent goalscorer when he gets a run of games plus he's a far better poacher infront of goal

Although Ikpeazu is highly unlikely to be a target, there is a case for Celtic delving into the market for another striker in the January transfer window. Odsonne Edouard is having to take a lot of the workload with the lack of options currently available to manager Neil Lennon.
Vakoun Issouf Bayo has scored just once this season, while Leigh Griffiths has been struggling with injuries in recent months and has not played since August.
