Italian Giants Preparing £30m January Raid For In Form Celtic Star

Napoli are tracking Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to the Daily Mail. The Italian club are not the only team interested, though, with Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta and Sampdoria also keeping tabs on the player.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are said to be the team in pole position and they are believed to be prepared to offer £30m to prise him away.

Edouard has been in superb form so far this campaign, having scored six goals and provided five assists in 12 appearances. For his performances in the league, he was named player of the month for August. The Frenchman said he was delighted to receive the award:

“I’m really happy. It’s always nice to win a trophy. I’ve been working really hard in training but the most important thing is the team and I’m playing well because the team are playing well. I hope it continues.”

Napoli’s interest is, however, said to go back two years as they have monitored the forward’s progress throughout his time at Celtic Park.

The Serie A club are believed to be serious about stepping up their interest when the transfer window reopens and it will be interesting to see if they do indeed make a bid.
