Jim White Reveals What He Has Been Told About Celtic’s Plans To Replace Lennon

Sky Sports and TalkSPORT presenter Jim White says sources have told him that Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has been seen playing golf with Eddie Howe.

The former Bournemouth boss has been heavily linked with the post at the Scottish champions in recent weeks, with current manager Neil Lennon coming under heavy scrutiny following some poor recent results.

White says he has not been able to verify the claim that the meeting took place but he does raise the question as to whether Howe would be the right man for the job:

“I cannot confirm this, but it’s been reported to me that Eddie Howe was in Scotland recently playing golf with Peter Lawwell. Eddie Howe is ready to take a job back in football. Would Eddie Howe be the man for Celtic?”

Pressure is growing on Lennon following the Green Brigade’s decision to unveil a banner and release a statement calling on the board to relieve him of his duties.

Even former teammate Chris Sutton has suggested that a defeat against Sparta Prague in the Europa League tomorrow evening could see the Irishman lose his job, but for the time being, this is all purely speculation.
