Leicester are lining up bids for Celtic pair Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard this summer, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The reporter, who is usually reliable when it comes to transfer rumours, says Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on raiding his former club for the two players.

Edouard is likely to be sold for around £20m, with the Frenchman having just a year remaining on his contract at Celtic Park. However, McGregor’s situation is very different.

The 27-year-old has just over three years remaining on his current deal, and he is in line to take over from Scott Brown as captain at the end of the season when the club legend leaves to take up a player-coach role at Aberdeen.

With that being the case, it is highly unlikely that Celtic would be prepared to offload McGregor, even if Leicester do come in with a sizeable bid for the Scottish international.
