Journalist Claims Postecoglou Has ‘No Intention’ Of Playing 26 Year Old Defender Despite Remaining At Celtic

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has “no intention” of playing left-back Boli Bolingoli, despite the Belgian having stayed with the Scottish club after the transfer window closed, according to The Athletic‘s Kieran Devlin.

The 26-year-old returned from a loan spell at Istanbul Basaksehir in the summer but he has not played a single minute of competitive action so far this season.

Greg Taylor is Postecoglou’s first-choice left-back while both Adam Montgomery and right-back Josip Juranovic have been used since the Scotland international sustained a shoulder injury against AZ Alkmaar.

Liam Scales has been recruited from Shamrock Rovers as well, with the 23-year-old expected to be deployed as another backup, so Bolingoli’s options appear to be very limited.

The Russian and Turkish transfer windows will remain open for a few more days so there is still a chance that the defender will be offloaded, rather than being frozen out until January.
