Celtic fullback Josip Juranovic does not have a release fee in his contract, according to journalist Rob Pratley.
The reporter, who has sources close to Chelsea, claims that, despite the absence of a buyout clause, the Blues are likely to press ahead with a bid for the Croatian international after Reece James’ injury:
Interest is now solidifying in Juranovic. The story of a release clause appears to be false, however. CFC looking to act quickly due to RJ injury issues and other clubs exploring JJ more. https://t.co/g227ogxclt

To be honest with you, we hadn’t heard any rumours about a release clause, but it may explain why there were reports from respected journalists who suggested that Juranovic could be available for only £5.2m when the January transfer window opens.
In fact, it has subsequently been claimed in the Croatian media that the 27-year-old’s asking price is around £17m, which seems like a much more realistic figure.
You wouldn’t expect that Chelsea would have any trouble meeting the valuation anyway so we shall see if they do table an offer for Juranovic in the coming days.
