Journalist Reveals Joyous Reaction Of World Cup Star After Being Asked About Celtic Transfer

Montreal Impact full-back Alistair Johnston is “honoured” to be linked with Celtic, according to Sportsnet reporter Peter Galindo.

The journalist says the Canadian, who is currently with his national team at the World Cup, seemed delighted about the prospect of joining the Hoops:

At the time of writing, Celtic haven’t officially announced the signing of Johnston but it seems like it is only a matter of time before we see him in a green and white hooped shirt.

A fee has been agreed with Montreal, a medical has taken place while personal terms are not believed to be a problem, so the move just needs to be rubber-stamped.

Johnston only joined Montreal from Nashville in December last year for $1m but he has clearly made a big enough impression on Celtic scouts to get his move to Scotland.

If the transfer is made official, the 24-year-old will be the Scottish champions’ second signing in the last week, following a deal for Vissel Kobe’s Yuki Kobayashi.
