Celtic are planning a cut-price move for Manchester City winger Brandon Barker, according to reports.
The 22-year-old has worked with Neil Lennon before during a 12-month loan spell at Hibs, and it seems the Hoops boss wants to link up again with his former player.
Barker has just one-year left on his contract at City and the English champions are likely to be prepared to offload the player for a low price.
Supporters on Twitter are not particularly impressed by the link with many thinking that Celtic have enough wingers as it is:
Just what we need – another winger ?

Think he could do something, but how many wingers are we gonna end up with? Forrest, Johnston, Sinclair, Morgan, Shved…Maybe Johnston or Morgan will be loaned out?

Cut price. Sounds like us.

We have Forrest, Sinclair, Johnston, Arzani, Shved and Dembele.
Where is the room for another winger? Unless it’s someone seriously top drawer (which Barker isn’t), it’s the last position we should be looking at.

A winger, a poor one at that, is just what we need. Can add him to the other 8 we have.

I’m genuinely concerned that the board don’t have much appetite for 10IAR.
If that document is true, then it’s cheap options again.
If they’d even consider selling edouard, then it shows they are a business and not a sporting organisation. Profit is more important than success.— Derek (@Derek19763) June 5, 2019
James Forrest, Scott Sinclair, Maryan Shved, Michael Johnston and Karamoko Dembele are all players in the first team who can play out on the wing so a move for Barker doesn’t make a lot of sense.
The wide man struggled out on loan at Preston North End last season, making just 16 league appearances in the English Championship, scoring no goals and providing two assists.
