Kenny Dalglish Gives Prediction As To When Postecoglou Could Leave Celtic

Celtic and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish says he doesn’t expect Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou to leave Parkhead before the end of the season.

A number of English Premier League clubs have been linked with the Australian, with the latest being Leeds United, but Dalglish doesn’t believe Postecoglou will leave the Scottish champions in the lurch:

“A few weeks ago it was Everton. Before that it was Southampton. And I think he was also tipped for the Wolves job a few months ago. In some ways, it’s a compliment that the excellent work he is doing at Celtic is getting noticed. But in other ways, it must be an absolute nuisance for him and his football club. It’s an intrusion, a pain.”

“You do not want to be pestered every time a job in the English top flight comes up. However, I wouldn’t be in a panic about it if I was part of the Celtic hierarchy, or a supporter. I can’t see him leaving in mid-season.”

Postecoglou has admitted that he is flattered by the interest being shown in him from English teams but has given no hint that he would consider moving south of the border.

The 57-year-old is contracted to Celtic until 2023 but there have been a few rumours over the past week suggesting that he will sign a new deal, which would stop speculation about his future dead in its tracks. However, those reports have not been substantiated by respected journalists so far.

Dalglish seems confident that Postecoglou will, at least, complete his second full season at Celtic Park and supporters will also be hoping that turns out to be the case.
