Kyogo Furuhashi Names His Three Man Shortlist For Player Of The Year

Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi has named three of his Hoops teammates as potential contenders for the Player of the Year.

Many believe that Kyogo is the favourite, considering he has scored 19 goals in 24 Premiership appearances this season, but the Japanese international was pretty humble, saying that he would nominate a trio of Celtic stars:

“Who would I choose as Player of the Year right now? I could say Joe Hart, Callum McGregor, Cameron Carter-Vickers – there are so many, I couldn’t decide.”

Cameron Carter-Vickers certainly does deserve a mention. Ange Postecoglou’s side have only conceded 18 goals in 26 league games so far this campaign and a lot of that is down to the performances of the American international.

Callum McGregor has also been consistently excellent, despite having to overcome a major knee injury late last year. The midfielder dictates play from the middle of the park and leads by example.

Kyogo’s decision to name Hart, though, is more surprising. While the veteran goalkeeper is a leader in the dressing room, his performances on the pitch have been solid rather than spectacular this season.
