Kyogo Names The European Giants He’d Like Celtic To Face Ahead Of The Champions League Group Stages

Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi is keenly anticipating the Hoops’ return to the Champions League group stages.

It’s the first time that the Scottish club have reached this far in the competition since the 2017/18 campaign and Furuhashi has listed four clubs he’d like to face:

“Who do I want to play? I could say the names of lots of teams – Barcelona, Man City, Real Madrid, Liverpool – wow! There are so many great teams in the competition. I’d love to play in these games for Celtic.”

The draw for the group stages takes place on Thursday and Ange Postecoglou’s side will be in pot four, meaning they are likely to come against (at least) two high-profile European clubs.

Pot one includes the likes of holders Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City. Pot two has teams including Liverpool, Chelsea and Barcelona, while even pot three has clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.

The best case scenario for Celtic would be if they get Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt from the first seeds, RB Leipzig or Sevilla from the second pot, with Red Bull Salzburg or Shakhtar Donetsk as one of the third seeds.
