Latest Celtic Injury News As Four Players Remain On The Treatment Table

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that Jozo Simunovic may need to see a specialist about an ongoing knee problem. The Croatian has not played since the first leg of the Europa league playoff round tie against AIK Solna.

Kristoffer Ajer will sit out Norway’s games against Malta and Sweden. The defender has been told he needs two weeks rest after sustaining a groin injury in the 4-1 second-leg win over AIK.

The centre-back could miss Celtic’s game against Hamilton Academical in the league and he is also a doubt for the Hoops’ first Europa League group stage match against Rennes.

Lennon has also confirmed that Nir Bitton is likely to be out for three to four weeks. The 27-year-old injured himself when colliding with an advertising hoarding during the 2-0 win against Rangers at the weekend. He was replaced by Moritz Bauer in the latter stages of the match.

However, midfielder Tom Rogic could be in contention to make his comeback versus Hamilton. The Australian international has been building up his fitness following an ankle injury he sustained in the Scottish Cup final back in May.
