Latest Celtic Injury News: Updates On Bitton, Juranovic And Jullien

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that midfielder Nir Bitton did make the matchday squad yesterday due to a “slight” knock.

The Israeli international was not even on the bench for the 2-0 win against Ross County and, when asked about the player’s absence after the game, Postecoglou replied:

“He’s got a bit of an issue. A slight issue.”

Bitton is likely to be back in contention when the Hoops take on rivals Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday afternoon, but that’s not the case with Josip Juranovic.

The Croatian had to be replaced midway through the second half of the Scottish Cup semi-final eight days ago and, while Postecoglou estimates he could be sidelined for at least two weeks, other reports claim the defender may be out for a month.

Christopher Jullien’s ongoing absence from the first team has raised a few eyebrows. The Frenchman actually played for Celtic B against Rangers last Wednesday as he builds up his fitness following a serious knee injury.
