Latest Celtic Injury Report: Striker Returns To Training But Lennon Reveals Defender Is A Doubt For Cluj Clash

Outside of Celtic Park

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that striker Leigh Griffiths is back in training after missing the last four games. The 29-year-old had a thigh injury but has also been suffering with a virus.

Despite the forward’s return, he is unlikely to take part against Cluj or Livingston with a first-team comeback expected after the international break. Lennon has also confirmed Moritz Bauer is a doubt for tomorrow:

“There’s a few bumps and bruises – Moritz’s ankle is still a little bit swollen.”

Tom Rogic has a minor knee problem but he is expected to train ahead of the game versus Cluj. The Australian international has yet to start a match for the Hoops this campaign due to various injury problems.

Nir Bitton (hamstring) and Mikey Johnston (groin) are back in full training and will be in contention to play on Thursday. Jozo Simunovic is the only long-term absentee. The Croatian had knee surgery last month and will not be back in action for at least three months.
