Latest Celtic Injury Report: Updates On Elhamed, Ajer And Bitton

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that Hatem Abd Elhamed should be back earlier than expected from a groin injury.

The Israeli international had a setback in his recovery during the winter break but it is hoped that the 28-year-old is close to making his return.

Kristoffer Ajer will be back in the squad for tonight’s match against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park after the Norwegian international missed the Scottish Cup win over Partick Thistle at the weekend due to a knock.

There is also some good news on Nir Bitton. The Israeli limped off in the opening minutes of the match on Saturday with a hamstring injury but Lennon is expecting the midfielder to be back in contention within a couple of weeks.

The Hoops boss also reiterated that Mohamed Elyounoussi looks set to return to action before the end of the month. The 25-year-old has not been seen since the Betfred Cup final due to a foot injury,
