Lennon Decision Expected Before Wednesday As Celtic Crisis Boils Over

Celtic’s board will hold more discussions with manager Neil Lennon within the 48 hours following the Hoops’ humiliating 2-0 home defeat in the Betfred Cup last night, according to the Scottish Sun.

Anger about recent results among supporters boiled over into the streets with the club condemning some fans for their actions after clashes with police.

Despite the strength of feeling that Lennon should leave, the Irishman was adamant after the game yesterday that he was still the right man to take the club forward, even after recording just two wins in the last ten games.

Following their disappointing performance in the Europa League on Thursday evening, the hopes of another domestic treble were also dashed at the weekend following the surprise loss to Ross County.

Former manager Gordan Strachan is now favourite, ahead of Eddie Howe, to take over from Lennon with the current manager’s future set to be decided before Wednesday.
